congrats, it looks very convincing.

could you please describe how you made it?

I'm going to try a streetfighting scene involving an Sdkfz 251 and some Waffen SS and would love to know how you made that base.

Hi Elad,
Here are some of the first photos:

I had an idea of what i wanted to do and have mostly looked at the 'feature' and 'forum' sections for the basics. There's a great feature by Keith Forsyth.I have used the same steps to make my dio, here is the link:A simple diorama
This is my second dio attempt BTW,i'm still on a learning curve!
Cheers,Shay

hey Shay,
thats quite a steep learning curve you've scaled!

I'll take a look at that article, I hope the final base I produce looks as good as the one you show here.

good luck, dont forget to update the thread with pics of your progress and the completed dio.

Shay, that is some very fine work. Can you tell us a little about the scene? What vehicles and/or figures will you have in it? I look forward to seeing this progress you are doing a great job. Cheers Kevin

Hey guys,
Neil(kia ora mate!),Elad and Kevin, thanks for the kind words. My basic idea is to have an Opel Blitz parked in front of the building(still undecided as it will look crashed or not).A mix of the new German Gen. 2 Korsun pocket figures + assorted winter combatants using the Opel as cover from enemy fire.It was originally just going to contain figures, but there was way too much space left over, hence the Blitz!
Still have to go about dry brushing the base, wallpapering interior walls, adding front door+damaged floor planks etc.
I had to stop an earlier dio because i got out of my depth, wanted to detail everything like i saw here on the site, too much for a newbie..however,learning from others, setting my own pace and everyones kind comments keep the energy juices flowing!
Cheers,Shay

Thanks David,
The rubble was made from what was left over from the interior casting from the building.Cut lot of plaster into brick shapes etc,and the rest was made by scraping a knife over some plaster for fine chalk like dust.BTW,the other 'Cliff' dio started to get too much for me!He is safely in storage though and might see some daylight one day!

Hey Shay!

That sure is an interesting diorama! Looks very good.
I know the aarticle and it is indeed a good guide to build convincing diorama's; like you are showing here!

Did you also used lentils for the coblestones?
I'm still looking were to find them here, but I can't find them. I'm afraid they are banned out my country... :-)

Dag Paul,(first in dutch)
Bedankt hoor.
Sorry, just leting Paul know that the cobble section was made from lentils and that they should be available in every supermarket in Holland.
Cheer,Shay

Nicely done. I really like the uneven base walls. A lot of times the base at the back is not raised to hold the debris - nice touch.

Make sure you push rubble right up against the inside wall. Also plan to have almost an equal amount on the outside, or evidence that it was pushed away.

Hey,
Thanks Parks20 and Slodder for your thoughts on the dio.Slodder-I will def. push more of the debris against the inside wall.I have not done that yet,as i would like to airbrush and weather the debris and then set the building in its place.Started wallpapering today, will update in a day or two.
Cheers,Shay

thanks Shay, my grandma puts these in the soup she makes. I'll make sure that some of it finds its way to my supply stash (the lentils, not the soup! ).

btw, you have an Israeli name and seem to know hebrew are you originally from Israel?
