I've been reading various books about armor (currently Panzer Aces II) and of course there are quite a few mentions of tanks being knocked out and then repaired to be returned to action. My question is: What did the repairs look like? Say the turret was penetrated and then repaired - what exactly did the turret look like after the repair?
I don't think I've ever seen pictures illustrating this. Are there pictures that show "patches" welded onto the panzer?
Just curious...

Well Scott it really depends on the type of damage. It could be as simple as a welded plate like you say, to a tank cobbled together from the parts of several severly damaged ones.

Thanks John,
That is pretty much what I thought as well. I'm just very curious to see some picturesof what the repairs might have looked like. Are there any photos of this?
