If you have a pin drill, drill out the headlight with the appropriate sized drill bit. Then paint the inside silver. After it dries I fill the opening with CA (super glue).

How about instead of CA, dropping in a little Future? I haven't done anything of depth with it, just some dial, but in 1/72, the hole won't be that deep.

Another option is to hollow out the headlights and use a set of MV clear resin lenses. MV have an large selection of clear, red, blue, black, and green coloured lenses that are suitable for 72nd scale armour. Glue them on with a touch of white glue (wood).

Im thinking of doing something similar but with navigation lights in the same scale.
Im looking at painting the light colour,,red or green, and then applying a fine layer of Humbrol Clear Fix to simulate glass.
Anyone tried this or something similar?

Sorry about that..... MV lenses are clear resin lenses that come in a variety of colours, red, green, black, blue and clear. All sorts of sizes are available.
here is one on-line dealer, with their selection...
