hey guys, a friend of mine is asking for a 3 tone color for the T-90. What tamiya colors would you recommend?

I think he's building an ace t-90 braille.

thanks a bunch!

Hi,
I would say
Black , Dark Yellow with Buff drops and NATO Green.

Maybe Jacques will pop up and give a better guess.

I use Black, JA Green and the third color can be a yellow but is just as often a light grey. Just depends on where and what vehicle was painted for. Most of the yellow ones were for expos such as IDEX.

All right, I'm famous! (ok, someone pop my big head.)

Anyhow, as I stated over on tanknet, the biggest problem is Tamiya's lack of color choices, really. Getting a good color out of the bottle is pretty tough except for the black. There is some play in what color the yellow can be (more tan or more brown) depending on the pictures you look at. Same with the green as to how dark or light, and even if it is more brown or more yellow.

Best bet is to try out a few colors on a piece of styrene and let them dry to get a feel for them. Then, if they do not look right, try to think what is different and then slowly add that tot he color...not just white or black, but also yellow or brown.

Now I certianly hope that helps and not just confuses! :-)
