Polly Scale makes an airbrush thinner specially formulated.... I swear by it.

Thanks,

I use the Polly S thinner just like Kevin and love the stuff. It is blue and comes in a clear bottle.

When airbrushing I use Isopropyl Alcohol (91%) and have had great success with it. Their airbrush thinner is also very good, but alot more expensive.

I use a water and alchohol combo and lately have been adding acrylic extender to the mix. The extender helps keep the acrylic paint from clogging my airbrush tip....I have Major problems with that!

I use Future as a thinner with PollyScale, Aeromaster, and Model Master Acryl. About 70% Future to 30% paint. 60-40 or 50-50 for lighter colors (never use it with white though, I haven't tested it with that yet). It comes out in a real nice semi-gloss finish (more Future, more gloss), dries rock hard, and is safe to mask after 24 hours (although you can handle it in about an hour) with Tamiya tape. It leaves a perfect surface for washes and decals. And (best of all) it has never once stoped up my airbrush by drying on the tip. I've been trying to convince people for a couple of years that this really works, but they won't listen. Oh well, their loss.
