Folks
I'm currently building the Tamiya Famo kit and have some questions.
1: the instructions give Panzer grey with sand/mud camo for a Tunisian version, is it possible that some were painted in all over sand colour?
2: Would the tarps have been left on to give the crew some shade and keep dust off the load?

Peter knowing the German army they would have issued both tarps to the crew and they would use them as they wished.

The tarps would have been very useful for the extremely cold nights, too -- can't forget that. I'd love to see some desertized figures in heavy coats. That would have been as common as men in shorts and pith hats.

For Tunisia, you could even have an all Dunkelgelb, or with green stripes, if Panzer Colours are to be believed. There were also some vehicles painted in an overall green or a tan colour. If you want to model a well used DAK vehicle, you might want to consider an overall Panzer grey, with sand overspray, or mud coating, this would give you plenty of scope for "distressing" it.
