what color for Iraqi Armour??

I was hoping some one could help me with this.
I would like to know witch Tamiya color to use for Iraqi armour.

I would go with Tamiya Desert Yellow as a base coat for presahding, then overcoat with Khaki.

If you are brush painting, I would go with Tamiya Khaki.

Weather to taste and Viola! A Steel Beast treat! :-)

Jac....do you by any chances know what is the color equivalent if I plan to use Mr Color from Gunze to replace Tamiya Desert Yellow and Khaki. ?

Basically, you could use any color or shade of sand. From when I was there, the vehicles were anywhere from a light sand, to sandy-gray, to a dark tan, and everything in between. I don't think there was one standard color used. They just painted them with whatever color sand they had at the time.

Gino....good point there...I almost forgot that I saw the 5 M113 line up in Germany with 5 different shade of OD....

It kinda brings up the age old question in modelling...Is this an artistic expression or it this the real reflection of the vehicle in the field....
