Hi guys. Here is an update to what i have been up to the past few days. For past pics click here.

Features still need to be 'picked out' with different highlights(i.e various stones, bricks, wood) and then weathering, washing and blending everything together.Keep in mind this is only the basecoat. Finally had a chance to use my new airbrush. Thanks for the past comments and tips guys, its really keeping me motivated!
All the best,Shay

Shay, nice start, is that scratch built cobbles and walk ?
Nice work, and now you can also enjoy the wonderful world of cleaning your new air brush - I hate cleaning mine l.o.l.

Hey,
Cheyenne, the cobblestones are made from lentils, and the footpath was made from balsa wood cut into various brick like shapes(probably 2min. work for you,a half day for me :-) ).As for the airbrush...i don't actually mind cleaning it, infact it is an absolute joy..compared to my beast that i use for spraypainting the interior of houses. That takes 30min to clean and the pistol has to be FULLY dismantled, where as my airbrush start to finish 5min. tops! Cheers,Shay

Thanks Shain,
Started today adding lighter and darker red colours, greys and wood colours to the dio.Looks strange with alot of things highlighted but once i mist it with a dark brown,it all should tone itself down...i hope! Will update in a day or two.Cheers,Shay

Thats going to look really nice when you finish it. I think once you add the washes it will tone down the brightness. I always think my stuff looks off, but by the end it always (almost always) pulls itself together. Keep posting progress photos.

Yeah Shay:

I agree with Ryan, keep posting progress pix.
You've got a great start and all of the elements are
very eye appealing. After you get all the washes
completed and pick out details with drybrushing and
the other techniques explained here so skillfully,
she will really be going to town, to use an old old
phrase.

Thanks Kevin and Mary.Still ALOT of work to go!.Added 15 or so variations of brick colours to the rubble, with some greys thrown in here and there, painted wood pieces etc.Going to mist it with some dark brown to tone it all down, and hopefully this weekend it's first wash. Will update with pics tonight Cheers,Shay
