I finally received an answer from a gentleman from the 4th Armored Memorial. He found this pic of an M3A3 of the 7th Armoured Division (Desert Rats) near Bayeux-Tilly!!!
He said none were used by U.S. troops. The English though were still using them.
You can still the insignia of the Desert Rats on the glacis plate.
