Actually, I want one in 1:35 myself... I have an old Aurora 1:48 on the way which I guess will have to tide me over until somebody does one. I'm hoping that Accurate Armour will do one someday.

Tank was never fielded so unless you want one because quite frankly it was one beautiful looking tank. Only version I have ever heard of is the 48th scale Aurora version which is rare and expensive.

I'll second an MBT 70 in 1/72 scale, with crew members.

Apparently neither could the drivers. There was supposed to be many nauseous episodes. . .

Guys ! Guys! Commander Models do one in 1:35 in resin - and it ain't bad. I have it - it comes with AFV Club tracks, casting is pretty good and one has to add a few things using brass wire and the like. The 20mm cannon could do with a replacement barrel from someone, somewhere. Hatches are moulded solidly shut but overall the kit though is pretty good; mine is nowhere near completion but hey, it exists!

Brian,
From all the pictures I've seen, the tracks look more like Leopard track than M-48's. I got a set to mine. Good luck and don't forget to share the pics!

Georg

Speaking of the devil. 1/35 mbt-70, German version, is my next scratch build project. I plan to make the driver's copula counter rotates with the turret, auto-loader drop out through the hatch under the turret bristle, and the 20 mm gun retracts into its circular bin like on the real thing.

I expect to start after I am done with my current leopard 2, pzh 2000, and Luchs custom build project for someone else. Estimated start date is next feburary or march.

Judging from the box art and CG rendering on Dragon's web site, Dragon is actualy doing 1.35 scale of the German version of the MBT-70 with the 120mm /44 gun, not the American version with 152mm gun missile launcher.

They appear to have patterned their model on the vehicle in the German armor museum at Munster.

Very cool, exactly what I was going to scratch build.

I too would like to see an MBT-70 along with some other Cold war Era experimental vehicles! The XR311 and Lockheed twister come to mind! Good Hunting GW

Not to get anything start. But this kit is showing projected availability in February 2014. And well the m-103 was to be out in October. And nothing haven't even seen it offered for pre orders anywhere either.

Not to be picky, but Bundeswehr doesn't use the Balkenkreuz. It uses the Eiserneskreuz instead.
