Hi, For those who are interested in Trumpter's new steam loco due out sometime in March, I just saw a color photo over on the Planet Armor web page of this thing. I looks pretty impressive too. Can't say I care too much for that bright red lower parts, but this may be a 'pre-war' coloring scheme, or not. Pretty sharp nonetheless.
Take care, Larry

I'm not really a "train-brain", but I may be tempted to get this one. Larry, I think the red lower parts are peacetime scheme, I seem to remember the OO/HO Fleischmann stuff always had red lower areas, so this must have been a feature of German loco stock. I think it would look quite striking if well weathered in a pre-war scene.

Hi, Wonder if the model railroaders have such a thing and 'scale' coal for this thing? I would imagine so. This kit is going to be making quite a few plastic model builders spend more time in the model railroad section of the local hobby stores.
Take care, Larry

peace times all the inferior color is red and during wwii was all in black
the loko is aprox 75 cms long.
this is with the rounded tender but the trumpeteer is with a squared tender
really all the locomotives are great models ( from a fan of the "models on rails")

I saw it there too! SWMBO was thrilled with it and thinks that I should get it to add to my Leopold! That should make the full train about 6 feet in length from what I roughly figure!
Hmmmmmmmmmmm, wonder if i really do have the room.... would be an interesting combination on the same track

Okay,
As I am no 'trackhead,' were I to get the Trumpeter loco (shown above) AND one of those awsome rail guns (above too), just how much rail would I need? I'm a die-hard fan of Tru-scales rail and they come in 3 12" sections (36" total). Would I need two or three or more?
Another, is IT feasible that the loco would pull one of these guns? What else would be with this combo? Flak gun, MG nest??? I really have no idea, just LOVE the concept!!!!
Any and all input is appreciated!!!
Thanks!

I think I heard listed retail was $160 and pre-order seems to be running around $110. Patience says ebay at around $100. Dragon made a series of rail cars and track sections so get ready for some real long dioramas.

This really has the potential for some great dio's!
So many possibilities! If you could get your hands on some flatbeds maybe a king tiger/tiger in transport. How about a boxcar with some P.O.W.'s being unloaded?
Does anyone know what would be the normal setup for a locomotive with regards to protection? Would you see 88's, AA guns, or what?
