The end is in sight I'm nearly done (85% done that is) with all my kits! Now I want to start thinking about another and I havnt done a German truck yet, any good ones out there, particularly with an engine, I also want to work on some scratching skills as well.
thanks

Italeri has both the Mercedes L3000 and the Opel Blitz. Both are old kits but they tidy up OK. Tamiya has the 6X4 Krupp Protze and a few other smaller vehicles. Italeri and Tamiya both have Horch's.
All have motors to my knowledge.

If you want to widen your choice,( and if you're not on a budget ) Wespe Models has released some resin heavy trucks kits (Man, Mercedes and Krupp )....

Tamiya does a Steyr 1500 (two different types). Really nice kits.

in reguards to the Opel blitz's and maulitiers, these vehicles are very decent ,and build up nicely with a variety of upgrades and options ,you can even find some old vacuform conversion on ebay by Schmidt / Airpress, they take alittle extra work ,but with care even these turn out very nice. But you might want to think about replacing the wheels ,the rims that are offered in these models are 6 lugs (civilian),where as the military had 8 lugs ,we've built ours with replacement wheels and straight from the box, depending on what $$ i had available at the time.

Hi,
I am building the italeri Mercedes L3000.... Nice looking truck, but the engine included is the 6 cyclinder opel motor and not the 4 cyclinder desil it should be. Also the interrior is terrible.... I had to scratch a dash board.... included in the kit is only the front panel with some very basic gauges.... which are so soft in detail so that dry brushing was impossible.
The rear rims had pin marks that were most difficult to remove.... (I would reccomend resin replacements)
though the tires look good....
Like I said the kit builds into a good looking truck....
but it lacks in accuracy and detail..

Shain -
The 'Italeri' trucks all build up great and have plenty of AM to detail them out. There would be plenty of 'scratch' options available I'm sure. "Angela" I know was working on the Italeri #0368) Opel Blitz Einheitskoffer and had a Verlinden detail set for a radio interior. Could check with her on that build.

How about Trumps Faun SLT-56. It's got AM Engine & PE parts. And if you find this less challenging, maybe you could also do the Leopard 2A6 with all the details on it.
