Hi, Just posted a couple photos in the "My Photo" section on how far I've come with the Dragon Pz. IV Ausf. E and the railroad car combination so far. The tools and such up front are some older Verlinden stuff from the spares box. I plan to add barrels, ammo boxes, crates, etc. around the rear of the AFV as well, later on. This thing has kind of turned into a moster of sorts as I think I will have close to 1300+ pieces ot it, vehicle and all, when all issaid and done. That's almost as much as I had with Trumpeter's Karl Moser kit, and this is just a small thing compared to it.
I think the car is sort of over-kill here as I think it's a 50 ton unit and would be more appropriate for a Panther or such. But what the heck.
I've been working on this thing ever since I got the Panzer IV kit here late last summer or early fall and it should be done by now, but I keep running into areas that I'm not sure what to do with right away and have to put it in the old brain box to "cook" and go to another kit till some sort of solution to my liking comes up. But such are the tirals and tribulations of the hobby I guess. At this rate it may be this spring or summer, or not. Ha, ha!
Take care, Larry

Excellent work Larry
It looks great there is some great detailing the weathering and grime is done very well, love the idea of the panzer on the railcar.
Keep us posted on your progress

Great job Larry,
I really like the dio a lot, I have always wanted to do a dio like that too. Are you going to add any figures? The weathering is excellent as is the ground work. The only two things I noticed is the rubber part of the road wheels aren't black, or at least dusty. And you can see the unpainted interior through the open driver/radio hatches. Thanks for sharing, and keep us posted on the progress.

Hi, Yes Brian I see what you mean there. Am going to have to add some dust down between those wheel sets. Didn't paint the rubber as it was just too much of a headache to fool with at the time. I'll have to do some more dusting on the whole vehicle once I get the turret done. I was hoping the turret would be somewhat easier to do that the chassis, but this darn thing is chuck full of itty-bitty parts in there too, just like the lower section. This is one heck of a detailed kit to build, there's no doubt about it. This kit is a real stunner for any builder to try their hands at. They won't be disappointed.
I will also have to get into that area beside those brake units with a long bristled brush and add some dark wash on those ares to get them to blend in more.
Thanks for the comments. Take care, Larry

I absolutely love it. Now when are you going to get the Trumpeter BR 52 to pull it ? Did the track piece come with the kit which I assume is one in the Dragon series.

Hello Larry,
Looks good so far. I do have to ask why you have painted and weathered the hull, and not even finished the turret build? I would think its gonna be tuff to match the paint and weathering, no?
