Gives me a whole new perspective on the phrase "taking a header"...

Not an unheard of occurance at the National Training Center in Ft. Irwin. Hear about deaths and or injuries when M1s or Brads take a header over the edge of a wadi at night. Depth perception sucks when using night vision devices on featureless terrain.

Rob,
Actually it was two scout Brads from one of the Infantry Battalions in 24ID that went off of the side of the Colorado wash in 1993. That total cost was three on that one: two BCs & a GIB / JAFO. One of the Scout OCs from the Scorpions, who I occasionally borrowed, was there that night and said he would have followed them over the side had he not seen their BO markers disappear... One of those nights when the percentage of moonlight was measured in a negetive percentages.
