Is it just me or is 1/48 really starting to move w/ all these new kits and accessories / conversions?
I know I'm going to build more - anyone else changing their mind and thinking about jumping to 48now that there are some interesting kits available?

Well, there will still be those who think it's some kind of gimmick... For myself, I believe that it seems to have a 'foothold' now and can only get better and wider in its choice. The truth is, I find what's happening very exciting indeed....Jim

I'm doing the best I can to promote the scale and the aftermarket parts for these fine kits :-)

It really is starting to look very interesting. My only problem with 1/48 so far are the available plastic figures. I got one of Tamiya's German sets and I was surprised at their low quality and very soft detail. I have a Hassegawa 1/48 scale set of pilots and ground crew that look much better than Tamiya's figures even though it is from the 80's. And the resin figures available are kind of expensive. I certainly hope Tamiya's figures improve or some other company starts making good ones at a reasonable price.

Well, I'm not selling my stash of 1/72 armor just yet, but I am picking up some of the 1/48 kits. I have to admit, it's a little easier on the eyes, for me. The fact that they are coming out with interesting kits doesn't hurt...I will pick up more than a few of the Pz.III's when they hit our shores.

Just got the PzKpfw IV and Panther Ausf. G from Tamiya today. Good looking kits, but I'd prefer plastic hulls vs. the diecast hulls.

I saw some awesome 1/48 kits built at the Milton Keynes show this weekend. The work and detail is amazing. The add ons for the Sherman like the mineroller and the callilope look really nice as well. I think 1/48 is here to stay.
Cheers,

Yeah right, we have to put up with the hostilities from the 1/35 scale "woe is me, Tamiya is abandoning our scale" crowd and now we have supposedly pro-1/48 scale modelers posting messages like this? Grow up.Quoted TextQuoted TextWhy would you make such an inflammatory statement?48th is just a flash in the pan!... Just like the hula hoop hullabaloo!
