Hi,
I was just wondering for those of you who use Vallejo model color if you use USA Olive Drab?

To me on the colour chart it looks an odd sort of colour, and I opted for Military green (975) on my Sherman I am building at the moment. Now that is on it looks incorrect . the trouble is the more I look at all these greens the more wrong they look

so do you guys use USA Olive Drab or do you mix a couple together to get a better colour? As I said already it is for a sherman I am building at the minute so what would you use out of the Vallejo range.

I also just have to say that the Vallejo Paints are amazing! I can't belive the difference in quality compared to Tamiya, and the best part they thin and clean up with just water

Tamiya OD is (allegedly ) reasonably accurate, which Vallejo colour is the closest to it?

I use Vallejo #889 US Olive Drab. It works nicely.

Gunnie,
I will give that a go then as I really dont like the colour I have at the moment Military green (975), will it be ok to just put the US olive drab over the top of the Military green? or should it be removed first ?

I also got a bottle of Vallejo Matt Varnish (520) does anyone use this and are there any known issues?

Thanks

You could try going on top of the military green. It will cover and may give you some interesting highlights.

Hope not in my experience it works just like other acrylic varnishes, I thin with a few drops of water and 'spray-away' as usual and find it excellent.

John
