Did Monogram ever make a model of the Tiger I in 1/32? The reason I'm asking is a fellow modeler has one that he wants to trade with me. I've don't know of that kit ever being put out.

I just saw that one in the store, but can't tell you much about it. It looked to be a newer kit by the pakaging, but again I couldn't say.

I've got the book Monogram: The First 40 Years (dated 2000) and it does not list a 1/32 scale Tiger. My bet is that someone has mistaken the PzKfw IV with the turret & side armor as a Tiger. Plus this kit was recently (within the past 5 years) reissued in the blue box with a photo of the completed kit on the box top. Here are some kit #s to compare the Panzer IV to:

1970: 6895 Panzer IV Tank
1972: 8218 Panzer IV Tank
1983: 6503 name changed to PanzerKampfWagen

They did do a 1/48 scale snap-tite Tiger I #7579 that was also reissued in clear colored plastic as part of their Luminators line. My local shop still has a couple of these glow tanks on the shelf. They also reboxed the 1/48 scale Aurora Panther along with their 1/48 scale Mustang in a diorama set called Armored Assault (#6035).

according to this place: http://www.chez.com/geniemini/Tigre%20kit.htm kit 7579 is in 1/35th, but it looks like 1/48th or so. I went back to that place I thought I saw it and couldn't find it, so maybe it was just a figment of my imagination.

I've got the 1/48 scale Monogram snap-tite Tiger #7579. It came in the box with a 1/48 scale M48 Patton that I won on eBay for $5. Definitely not 1/35 scale.

I checked the link you posted. there is a Monogram Tiger and it does say 1/35...but from what I can decipher from my basic French it says there are only 25 parts, which seems to me too few parts for a 1/35 Tiger, plus the picture of the model looks very basic and crude.
I'm thinking that the modeler I've been talking to is actually refering to a Panzer IV.

Well, I finally got the kit. We were right. It's not a Tiger like the guy said, it's actually a Panzer IV, listed on the box as a Panzer Attack Tank. Still decent, though crude compared to Panzer IV's on the market today. I'll probably post it on Ebay, since it is still shinkwrapped.
