She is a real beauty, love the effects, congratulations. I have the DAK waiting, so I will definitely use your build for inspiration.

Me and my big mouth about the MOM :-) :-) . Now we know who will dominate the contest

. Its brillant Rick. Those filters definitely give the tank variations of color
BTW, how did you do the oil filters? Did you thin the oil for filtering? I can not achieve the same result when I use oil for filters...

This is going to be one entry thats hard to beat. I like teh weathering you did....subtle weathering is probably the best way to go. I especially like the tracks. Any tips on this area?
Wooden objects were beautifully painted as well. Rusted tow cables were very realistically done too.

Thanks for the comments guys ....Arvin for oil paint filters I usually use lighter fluid as a thinner ..it has the characteristic of making the oil paint come out flat..This time I used some Tamiya Enamel thinner just because I had it sitting here and had bought it by mistake when I wanted acrylic thinner ..lol It worked fine ...I just put a blob of oil paint and add thinner till it runs just right ...works for me ...
Jeremy the tracks are Friuls so I painted them a base coat of humbrol track color and let them dry ..I then added thinner to the tracks and covered them with MMP pigments ..I think it was Tropical dirt color ...when this all dried out I drushed off most of the pigments and sanded the top pf the cleats where they contact the ground ..this brought back the shiny metal color of the friuls I then add a dusting of pigments and then sealed it all with a raw sienna wash ...
The cables just rusted on me after I had annealed them to make them softer to work with ..a few washes and that was it ...strange but it worked..

A real work of art. Detailing and weathering all superb. I think I'll leave my DAK Tiger in the box and just admire yours. As others have said a great inspiration and example to go by. Got to get you to put a Crew figure in, only thing missing. I like picture #4 as it shows off the rear deck details. Thanks for sharing,

Looks good to me! When you sprayed the hull with pigments, did you put them in anything? Water? Mineral spirits? Or did you spray them dry?

You know you're a modeler when....
a:your fingers are forever encrusted with dried paint/cured glue
b:you smell of enamel thinner, glue, and paint 24/7
c:you shed a tear when the hobby shop closes.

I'm guessing it's Alpine's #35006 DAK Tank Commander. Great choice and with this outstanding build, it will be the "cherry on top". Congrats on superb job.

now to decide what picture to use for the MoM contest...
what do you think ?
I like the 5th one down Rick. It gives you a good view of the details on the rear and you can really see the tonal (is that a word??

) variations and weathering nicely. Great work!

Hi David I mixed the pigments with alcohol to spray them...you have to keep playing with the nozzle to get them to spray but I wouldn't put them through My Tamiya SF ..That's why I have my Paasches H ...It worked well ...I then poured what was left over into a paint pallet and let the alcohol evaporate ..I then put what was left over back in the pigment container ..no waste... how cool is that ..
