I recently joined armorama, and figured that the best introduction would be to show the models I built . Up until mid last year, 99 % of my models were planes in 1/48 scale. Then one day I purchased my first armor kit: Tiger I from Tamiya and was hooked on 48th armor ever since.

Here's my latest creation:

More pictures of the StuG can be seen here:

and more galleries of tanks in 48 and 35 (not only mine) can be seen here:

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Very nice Sean! Good subtle weathering, and a good overall paint job. Well done!

Ahh Somebody else that has enjoyed building a Tamiya 1/48 scale and it doesn't even have wings so can we say a convert to the world of armour modelling.

I was wondering if all of those that will only build 1/35 and decry us who slip into other scales are at last seeing the qualities of these new kits when they see the quality of the builds that are being exhibited here on the big A..

Congrats Sean that is a wonderfully painted and subtly weathered kit. It looks absolutely great.

Are you going to do some more armour now or go back to things with wings?

Regards,

John

Thanks guys. I'm glad you like it.

I'm currently working on M10 and I hope that it will be as much fun as others were.

I'm certainly going to build both. I have a few things on my bench right now. Some time ago I started B-25D and I'm thinking about picking that up again. I also have painted and decaled Millenium Falcon that is waiting to be finished.

If everything else fails, I can always go back to my favorite plane and build a Spitfire .

Very nice, Sean. I think that some of the 35th scalers could learn a little about painting from you.

Sean,

Kit looks great. I won't be at the club meetings for the next few months (March, April, May) since they fall on weekends that I am gone traveling to shows. I still want to take you up on the photo lessons when I get a chance. Also the Mk III panzers are in.
