Dutchie -
I really like what you've done in you diorama. Nice details and good balance. If you're depicting the Tiger IIs of sSS-PzAbt 501 that supported Peiper and 1SS Pz Division, #213 was knocked out in La Gleize on 22 December which was before it snowed in that area of the Ardennes. I'd stay with the way your showing it now, cold, maybe frosty and definitely muddy. For "Tigers in the Ardennes" try this site. I've found it excellent in describing the details of sSS-PzAbt 501 involvement.

wow, guys, you make me blush and it's far from ready. Abvout the 213. If I understand it corerctly "213" and snow are the wrong combination ? What would be right ?
By the way, what material is best for groundwork ? I use "coffee and white glue" but (apart from the smell) it crackes.

Looks good Dutchie!
One thing about the location of the Sherman. The position it is in is hull enfilade, which would not be the best for engaging a target, as it shows the entire 'broadside' of the tank. For example, if it was the exact reverse, with gun trained to the right, it would only be showing the front of the tank, and a minimal part of the left (far) side ie. smaller target.
Sorry I'm banging on a bit here, but an example of what happened with your dio could be that the Sherman was aimed at a target behind the building, and then was surprised form down the roadway and was 'brewed up' whilst the turret was traversing...
All in all, best of luck with it and go easy with the snow!!
:-)
Cheers
Brad
EDIT
Have just looked again, and realised the little tree would be in the way!!

Hi Brad, You should have a point there if it wasn't for the fact that the Sheman is alreadu wrecked having a large hole on the side. I've placed it there as a burnt-out tank.

Hey Dutchie!
Yeah I realise it has been knocked out, and was just trying to establish how this happened
Begrijpt u wat ik bedoel?
Cheers

Let's try this :
Ja, ik begrijp je.
Who knows how it happend but I get your point. Well, it was on the road when it encountered a Tiger. It tried to make a turn, so it ran instead of attacking, but was shot in the side. Being shot it ran of the road into the yard. How's that ?
Now, serious, what would you suggest as a possition and.............are you Dutch ?

No, that works for me Dutchie! Your explanation is quite clear In order for this to be apparent, I would show clear tracks behind the Sherman, and maybe make it run into the little tree, kind of uprooting it? It would give a good feel that they got 'surprised' by the German armour, and looks as though the Tiger will go marching proudly past... This in essence is what happened in the early stages of the Ardennes offensive, as I'm sure you know!
Cheers

Thanks. This is a nice discussion but....
it's not this Tiger that shot the Sherman. The Sherman has been there for several days now so the tracks are already gone but I will buy the tree-part (or, even beter, a run-down fence !

Good point. In my opinion he's pionting at/talking to the other guy with the map but it does need some more thinking !! Do you have a picture if 'the wire' that is missing.

please dont think i,m being fussy or picky but it was pointed out to me when i done the same thing on my 3 king tigers just trying to share accquired knowlrdge thats all
