Hi all,

this is my latest addition to my armor collection -it's the Tamiya Challenger 1 done out of the box with only some minor brass wire additions. The base is MIG´s Stalingrad base. Never really knew how big these UK maschines were!! They are huge! enjoy the pics in my gallery as well and let me have your feed back.

Hi, Looks really, really good. I like the weathering effects, esp. the mud on the skirts. And the slanting base is a nice touch, adds some personality to the build. I'll have to consider one of these to stuff back in my stash to gather dust and cat hair.

Liked the photo of your Jadgtiger too.

Take care, Larry

Hey Morton

Nice looking chally you have there. I really like the way how you made the vehicle look dirty. I wonder If you have a pic of the back side how you did the dirty thing there.
But If I where you I would change the periscopes. The one of the driver looks to blue. I have a thread on my website on how to make realistic persicopes. If you like you can visit it here

Greetings

Hi there,

Thank you very much for your positive comments - all of you. In regards to the periscopes the light from the camera flash is playing a big part here. It is in fact a very dark blue, but I will read your article with big interest anyway. Thanks for point out your site to me - some nice builds you have got there - maybe I can get back to you with armor related questions??

HI

Looks ggod from here.

It looks like you painted the roadwheel contact portion of the tracks differently from the rest of the track. Good catch as this is often over looked.

Very nice, especially the wet/dry mud effect.

Very impressive work Morten. Over all a very nice paintjob. The mud spatter on the skirts are particularly impressive. I really like the way the mud, turns from wet, on the lower part of the skirts to semi dry and finally dry on the top part of the skirts.
Only thing that doesn't look right, is the base. It looks as if the track width, of the tank, is way to wide for the base.

Nice chally you got there Morton. Im actually just about to start on this kit. How did you generally find it? Did the kit come together well? Any tips?

I do like the way you weathered the kit. Wish you had more photos though.

Hi Jeremy,

The kit goes together well - it's a Tamiya kit!! I have not got a lot of reference as far as dimensions goes, but it's a great build and the size is impressive. I will try to post some more pictures - any particular angle??

Not a fan of modern armour, but I have to say that the weathering looks good on this one. Anybody building modern British armour should look for pics of vehicles used in training and exercises on Salisbury Plain (the army's main armoured vehicle practice ground) - clean they ain't!! A mix of chalk, clay and water-filled pools makes for some very interesting colour schemes.

See the pics of my Abbott in the 'Service with Honour' gallery for my interpretation. Been there, seen'em & cleaned'em!!
