I am not sure which brands of acrylic mix with what brands, I have Tamiya, gunze, Vallejo and model master acryl any of these not mix with the other. I guess more specifically do the thinners required to thin these paint counteract other brands.

I cant speak for the other brands but I use both model master and tamiya.
I don’t think you can really mix them well for real painting but I’ve ben able to mix small amounts for some weathering and it worked.

Well...
Tamiya uses an alcohol base I believe and MM Acryl and Vallejo use something else.
It is best not to mix, but experiment with tiny amounts and see what happens. Don't think I would even try and airbrush mixed...

I read many posts that Tamyia doesn't mix well with others. Could be the different bases/compounds they use.

Hi,
According to the LHS people, you should not mix Tamiya's and Gunze's a s they use different alcohol. I did try using Gunze's thinner on Tamiya's paint and the paint did turn gluey, starchy?
Hope this helps!
PS: By the way, I was using Acrylic basd paints!
Cheers!
