It is a great looking kit. Got mine in the mail a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) I'm swamped with projects at the moment, so it will have to go to the bottom of the pile for the time being. I only had time to open it up and take a quick peek. Luckily, the decals were not damaged by the copious drool that ensued. .

I don't think I will do that. My eyesight and dexterity aren't what they used to be.

I enjoyed the individual tracks, and to me, made quite a nice difference between the vinyl tracks. Very enjoyable build. *smile*

How long did it take to assemble the tracks? How much time did you spend doing the carpet crawl looking for the tiny dropped parts?

In the initial pictures of the decal sheet, the flag decal appeared to have a 50 star canton. Did they correct this in the production version?

I just checked and it sure looks like a 50 star flag to me. Nice catch.

Didn't take too long for the individual tracks. Biggest thing I did was take it slow. Sprayed the tracks with the base coat one day, let it dry for a while, came back, painted the rubber on the track blocks. Let that dry a few days. Kind of hit it in spurts. Once everything was cut out and all ready, building the tracks themselves only took a little while. Since the paint added a little thickness to the pins, I was able to place the end connectors on, and have workable track, hooked up 66 to a side, and placed the complete assembly together, placed it on the tank, rearranged, then fixed it with a little testors liquid glue on the end connectors, at the pin holes. Then fixed any damage that popped up from the glue. Maybe an hour total, for both sides, for assembly.
The only interesting note was getting the end connectors to sit correctly, for the track. Some wanted to lean, but that was about it.
Unfortunately, yes, a 50 star flag. Rumor has it, in later production kits, Academy is going to produce a replacement decal with the 48 stars, like that replaced the soviet star.
Other than the lack of some interior items, I really enjoyed the model. It was a joy to build, and probably on the next one, I will figure out a way to add in those items, like the hydraulic pump system on the turret basket floor.
