Need some Tamiya equivalent colors for these Humbrol paints:
115 Russian Blue
28 Camouflage Grey
I checked the FAQ and Answers thread and it seems like the Colour Cross Reference link has some website-related errors, so I can't check the equiv color there.

028 Camouflage Grey (Humbrol) - XF-55 Deck Tan (Tamiya)
115 Russian Blue (Humbrol) - ?? Apparently this colour from Humbrol is discontinued.

Hi Ralph
What are you building? Might be able to help you better if we knew. XF-55 isn't a grey colour, so there's something wrong somewhere...

Waw thanks!
Weird. How come grey becomes tan? :-) :-) :-)
BTW, are Testors the same as Model Master enamels? IIRC, MM is a product of Testors right?

I can find no conversion for russian blue to Tamiya you will have to mix it yourself by eye and good judgement.
In the last Humbrol Folder they gave a mix method for this discontinued paint which is -
Humbrol 34 x 37 drops
Humbrol 25 x 10 drops
Humbrol 150 x 6 drops
Humborl 80 x 3 drops
Should equal russian blue.
Regards,
John

Hi Drader! Am building this ICM Yak-7B The interior calls in for a camouflage grey (Testors #1728/ Humbrol #28). Also, the underside calls in for a Russian Blue (Testors #1723/Humbrol #115).
I don't have any colored picture references so I cannot even guess a good mix.

Hi John! Perhaps a pic of any aircraft that spots a Russian blue and camouflage grey would atleast give me an idea on what they look like. Humbrols here are sooo rare :-)

I would guess a web search for soviet aircraft pictures may be of help, but I will look in some reference books later and see what I might have there.

I know about costs but I have thought that it might be worth searching the hannants site to see what they might do in their own colours and then look to convert to testors or Polly S etc.

Humbrol 64 Light aircraft grey is a good approximation for the soviet cockpit colour.

Using the testors colour number that you said and using it to search on the paintchart address in an earlier reply gives this result

Similar to US Ghost Grey

This chart of WW2 Soviet colours is cross-referenced to FS equivalents, which should help
http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/stuff_eng_colorcharts_soviet.htm
And there are some camoflage schemes here
http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/Camouflage/index.php
Suggest you look at XF54 for the grey and XF23 for the blue.
