I was fortunate to visit Moscow recently and was able to take some useful photos from a modellers perspective. These photos were taken approximately 200km SW of Moscow

Try going from plus 30 Deg C to minus 30 Deg C in one day - bit of a shock to the system.

I don't know how motivated people are to wage war at these low temps

Many thanks for the pics. It definitely has the soft powdery feel of freshly fallen snow which contrasts well with the ground up ones on the road.
