Hi All
In a hurry to finish my SA6 so that I can start off my Russian group build / Campaign in time. 80% construction finished. some more sanding and some more details yet to be added. Planing to prime by this weekend. Let me know what do you think. If anyone is building this kit, feel free to post your pics.
For those who are planning to buy this few pointers:
1. Do not glue the hinges for missile luanch rails as given in the instruction. Else you wont be able to pose in luanch position.
2. The photo etch clamp (with "U" shape) for the top rear panel should be rotated 180deg. That is the two points (top of the "U") should be pointing outside. In the instruction it is wrong. I followed the instruction. so mine is wrong
3. The drivers hatch has two periscopes in 90 deg. I am not sure which one should be pointing to the front. I have seen two pics in the net. Both shows the smaller periscope pointing to the front. Can the hantch be rotated? Need to check
4. The missile rails and the missile itself takes too much time to build, fill and sand. so beware.
With all this I like this model very much and probably will build another in the near future.
Have a Great Day

I know nothing about Russian armour so I'm not sure if this would be correct.
The head lights might look good with AM lenses ie Griff (or some others). You've done a little extra with the tow cable, wire handles and PH the lenses may add a little more to the finished project.
Great looking start so far!
Jim

Hi newnikonian,
Nice built ...looks like a very interesting vehicle...
Questions on the track abd road wheel...seems like you have already painted it black before assembly or does that road wheel and track comes in that color ?
keep us posted on your progress.....

Hi Jim - As I have mentioned more than 20% work has yet to be done before priming. Thanks for your suggestion. I need to find the lens hopefully. IF I could find than I will do that. Ordering online is out of question since I wont be able to complete in time. Thanks again, since you have mentioned, the absence of lenses are glaring to me.
Hi Mike - I have assembled the tracks and wheels etc. Primed and pre shaded with black. The wheels had one coat of base green also. Before fixing the tracks to wheels I added some texture and mud. Because while doing my previous model, I had a tough time weathering the hard to reach areas such as axles and the inside of road wheels. To answer your question, No the original color of the wheels and tracks were the usual pale white as the rest of the model.

Is this the Trumpeter kit i saw recently at my LMS for £11.95, It looks a fantastic kit lots of detail. Has there been a lot of work getting it to this stage. It will look great when weathered. Not being an expert I persume this vehicle was available to the Iraq forces in OIF.
