Hi All,
Am researching Romanian armor in WW2 and have found alot of good stuff except for color pics etc.; was wondering if anyone here could help out with info such as color of the tanks and hopefully a site with good photos of these vehicles in Romanian markings.
Also I have found decals for armor kits for Hungary etc but nothing on Romania, any decals or templates for Romanian armor?
TIA

Tom,
Decals do exist for Romanian AFV's of WW2. My company, Decalcomaniacs! makes a set. Here's the url for the e-bay store: http://stores.ebay.com/Decalcomaniacs . We also have markings for Finnish, Slovak, Hungarian and Bulgarian vehicles as well as other markings not available anywhere else. The decals are waterslide only. Hope that helps!

IIRC Romanian tanks were painted montone green. I'll have to remember to look in Steve Zaloga's 'Eastern Front camouflage and markings tonight to make sure.

Thomas, You may have already found these but anyway: here are some pictures of the Bucharest Museum exhibits.
Colours may have been oversprayed and may even be Russian, or completely faded from their original?

Okay, had a look in Steve Zaloga's book and it seems the Romanians didn't bother much with repainting, Czech-built tanks like the R-1 and R-2 were in supplied in an olive drab colour and the French R-35s were in French vert armee. German-supplied stuff came in dark grey or dark yellow depending on when it was delivered.
