AFV Modeller issue 14 ( the issue with the 8.8cm Flak 41 & crew on the cover, January '04) has a four page spread on how a modeller improved his kit. Only construction w/in-depth captions -- no painting.

They sell individual articles for $2 each, I think. Try them online
