I'm putting my eye doctor on notice and am going brail scale in armor. Does anyone have any comments on a manufacturer called UM

I see a few people have the kits, but haven't heard anything specific about the kits. What is the quality like? Are they worth the effort?
Thanks

There are a couple of reviews on our site about UM models and sometimes listed as Unimodels. I've found them to be as good as Revell with a bit of extra PE and sometimes rubber road wheel to "ease" in painting.

They make the best 38t tank series and their T-34 series was the best until Dragon started cranking them out.

Here is a good 1/72 scale armor model reference site:

Thanks Robin, I am dissapointed in myself, I should have gone through the reviews better. I did a search for "UM" of the site and it didn't return any reviews and I stopped there.

Thanks

We've only got six UM Model reviews on our site and On The way has about a dozen. Among the two sites, you should be able to get an idea of what they are like.

I didn't hesitate to jump to the reviews as soon as I read your post.
I also looked at and book marked On The Way

Scott,
While I own a few of these kits I've only built one to date. It had link & length tracks that I found difficult to assemble, but I think this was a reflection of my own lack of skill and not the manufacturer's engineering. PE screens were also included. The kit was not the easiest build, but again I think the kit would not be a problem for an advanced modeller. Overall the kit built up nicely, has great detail, and is accurate (to the best of my research). I highly recommend UM and they have some great subjects that I haven't seen from anyone else in 1/72.

Scott,
Here in Romania I had opportunity to see almost all of their product range. I didn't purchase any because I'm not building 1/72s very often but I examined them carefully and with much interest. They have cheap and quite good kits. The PE pieces and the rubber wheels are very nice. I heard and read nice comments about these kits from Romanian modellers. The only complaint is about the rubber wheels that they are reacting not so friendly with the enamels sometimes. The tire rims must be painted before the assembly.. This is just a gossip of course till trying myself these kits..
If you have a specific question about a specific product of UM I think I can collect some information here..

Alguhan..
