Hi you all!
This will be the first attempt for me to produce a dio.
I wanted to plan everything out, I came stuck with the building (the first thing I've set to the plan)
The borders of the cutting map will be the borders from the dio. As you see there are real gaps between the house and the border. Is it responsible to add so much rubble on the left and right side of the house? The length of the floor will expand.
My first dio will look something like this:
A german SS officer who's pulling his mate away from the danger. As you can see there's an Airborn jeep. I'm now still looking for a dead body of a british para. Then I would like to add 2 more german figures. One will stand shooting at the top left window, an other I would add would be running to the house from the left....
The lamp will be replaced by a better one... I don't know what one right now, but I don't like this Tamiya one!
Any idea's are welcome to help me with this one!
Cheers
Wesley

Hi Wezz,
Great little dio, the composition looks very good. As long as your base is about the same size as your green cutting board, everything will fit nice. Just make sure to add plenty of rubble, and maybe some other little extras to fill in any empty space. i like the building, who makes it?

Nice nice nice for your first, you have learned a lot .
One thing to look at and consider is the angle of the jeep and its wheels. If you can turn the wheels to show the hard right turn that would be a great detail.

Hallo Wezz,
Well mate, you are off to a great start.I made the mistake with my first dio of making it too big and i suffered! However i like how yours is small with a story that is direct and to the point.I agree with Slodder on turning the front wheels,it would break the scene up a little, might be hard if it is all glued together .Just one question..will you be adding a sidewalk(voetpad) to the dio?Veel success, greetz Shay

I totally agree with all so far... for your first you're off to a great start.
Can you tell us more about the 2 German figs shown.
They appear to be resin. Very nice action. Did you modify the original stance or are they the original pose?
Nice start!

Hey Wes
Like the building simple yet effecive
As to your dilemma regarding the rubble needed for the building sides, well you do need this to convey an accurate look. An option would be to extend the left side to make a corner out of it, and have the footpath go around the corner. This will make the building hit the edge of the dio as a complete wall, and therefore leave you with just the right side to reduce to rubble on that edge... Not sure if closing a wall on the left side would shorten the room to the left side too much though... Would look too weird haiving both sides reduced to rubble, and the front relatively undamaged...
As for the jeep, the change in wheel direction would be appealing, even have it on a slight angle having run up some rubble?as would having the German in the window re-loading, as opposed to aiming/shooting... This allows the viewer to realise what he is doing, without having it spelt out for them?
The streetlight looks great! Why do you not like it?
Best of luck, shaping up well as a small dio that shows an evocative story!
Cheers
Brad
