Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the box art show a grey Marder III?
If so, I would trust Tamiya, they are usually right.

as long its a an h model, m's were usually dark yellow, but on that note there is debate on any german armour built after oct-nov '44when paint supplies went very low. so the choice is yours

Sorry to poke fun at you Brandon. I am using panzer grey with a little white the drybrush my panzer 1 so I think that it would work as a base colour. What company is it from?

Hi Brandus... There were 3 types of Marder III's:
1. Sd Kfz 139 - Panzerjager 38(t) 7.62cm PaK36(r).
2. Sd Kfz 138 - Panzerjager 38(t) Ausf H 7.5cm PaK40/3
3. Sd Kfz 138 - Panzerjager 38(t) Ausf M 7.5cm PaK 40/3
---- The first two Marder III's were in action on the Russian front in 1942, before "dunkelgelb " was odered as the standard base color for German armor in 1943. So yes you can paint them "panzer grey ". ( Actually, unless your entering competition .....it's your model and you can paint it whatever color you like ).
I'll check with my source, to find out if some remained grey or they all had to change to the
standard color of dunkelgelb after the order was passed down in Feb. 1943.
---- The Ausf M was put into action in May 1943 ......All Ausf M's photo's I have seen are with a dunkelgelb base.

Hi Branden.
Those are the same thing! You are being caught up in the paint manufacturers names.
Ralph covered the facts as we know them.
