I saw "2523" SA-6 during military expo in Kielce in 2002 (photos of this vehicle was published on Matt Malogorski's Full Metal Jacket site). Your model is really close to original.

Got a seam on the inside exhaust area of your missiles. Looks good otherwise. "Q"

If you want to build the same vehicle as shown on military expo- you should do 2 things:
1/ cover the exhaust area of missles
2/ do a heavy weathering with the wheels (they were covered with dry mud)
Regards,
Michal
P.S.
If you want I can send you few photos of this SA-6.

That's a great cammo job, and the overall finish is excellent. The wood on the pioneer tools is nicely done too. My only negative comment is not about your effort but the kit itself. They could've detailed the periscopes and wipers much better. But because of yours, I really want to build this now. I'm thinking delrin HO scale locomotive wipers. (which I have in abundance somewhere)

Hi Michal – Thanks for the pointers. I have not started weathering yet. I will be starting weathering this weekend. I will keep you updated. Regarding the cover for missile exhaust, I need to check few more pics and will come out with a solution. Thanks again for the pointer. BTW, do you have any other pics?
Hi Bob – I bought this kid with the KV1. KV1 took 2 weeks to complete. SA6 took nearly 7 weeks. But I get modeling time only during weekends mostly. So do your math. The missile launch rails and the missiles are the tough areas. In my progress thread I have mentioned few areas to look out for. Check it out.
Hi 18Bravo – I agree with you. Expect to do quite a filling and sanding in the periscope area. All the best.
Hi Roderick – Thanks for the nice words. Even though lot of work. I am sure you will enjoy the build. Getting references proved tough when I started but collected enough by the time I finished painting. Keep us updated about your build.

Nice clean build there. I like the camouflage that you did to this kit.

WOW Michal, Thanks a ton for the quick response. The Pics you have sent are great. I was frantic for reference for the missile exhaust covers. Your pics made it a breeze. Thanks a Million. Appreciate your effort.
Hi pod123 - This is a Trumpeter Russia SAM-6 kit (item no: 00361). Check this out. The wood finish is my first try. search no further. It is available here at ARMORAMA. I followed the wash technique from this great article by Robert Blokker. https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/825
Quick and easy.
Hi olivier - I am planning for two entries for the Modern armor campaign. One will be the SA6 and the other will be Tamiya M1A2. I have started off the M1. But still searching for Cast a coat locally. Hope I will be able to finish my M1 before May. Else only SA6 will be submitted. I need to do some searching around so that I can come up with a presentable write up to go with it.
Thanks Alex, for the kind words. First time trying camo. Happy that you like it.
Have a Great Day.

Hi Mukund.
It's nice to see, you've made this vehicle in Polish painting.

Beautiful! I think you could as well avoid weathering, it's perfect!
