A dedidcated "Cavalier", I resorted to Atak for the DML late Tiger. Any tips using this stuff? I'm mostly concerned with adhesive. I've always used Elmers white glue for the Cavalier Zimmerit but Atak suggests epoxy. Never used epoxy, will Elmer still work?

Ryne, they are both very thin resin, Cavalier also tells you the best way to apply their product is to use epoxy, but if you use Elmer's for it and it works then it should work for the Atak zim also.

Hi,
I have used Atak with super glue with success. First of all, if possible thin Atak sets with sand paper, as thin as possible. From places sets can be a bit thick so thinning them makes them "sit" more nicely.
Glueing is done as follows:
1. align part to it's intended place.
2. Tape it from another side. I have used Tamiya tape but this doesn't matter.
3. Now you can lift part from untaped side and put glue to either resin part or to plastic.
4. Put part in it's place and press it firmly against model.
5. as glue has dried, you can remove tape and glue rest of the part.
I have used super glue as it is thin and spreads very nicely between parts due it's capillary features. You can even add it between parts afterwards with stretched sprue.

Hope this helps,
Niko

Ryne -

I've only used Atak once though Cavalier several times. In each case, I used 5-minute epoxy spread very thin. It works great for me and gives plenty of 'adjustment' time if needed. Just watch for the ooze out the sides if you get too much.
