I'm not a real WWII expert, so I don't know when the "bedspring" armor first made its appearance.
Kits 6066 and 6203 are very similar to one another. I believe one difference was in the fenders. However, for 1945 Berlin the 6066 would certainly be appropriate as it's the later model. The late tracks would be suitable for the time as well.
Earlier I mentioned I was only familiar with Maquette's hulls, but later I realized that I have used one of their turrets as well. It was at the time RPM, but is now sold by Maquette. It has the split ventilators as shown in your photo. I even mentioned it in a different thread not too long ago. Squadron have a few Maquette T-34/85's listed. I'm ordering one tomorrow for the hell of it.. The one with mine roller is actually cheaper than the one without. It'll be interesting to see whether or not it comes with the mesh for the transmission area as did their T34/122. I would imagine so.

yes,the T34/85 w/mineroller,has the mesh ,for the engine cover, but thiers is a soft nylon type material,if i have enough material, ill replace mine with brass, and the model comes with individual track links.

I lucked out and won this just the other day:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6037511982&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
They pop up frpm time to time, and considering I don't need to waste time/gas on purchases, I love going to ebay.

Thanks Joe. For less than twelve bucks you can't beat it. I think the hulls hold up very well compared to DML. And if it's the same split vent turret I can live with it.

18Bravo, man...you are lucky....how do one search for something on the ebay...I am very new to this ebay stuff...appreciate if you could tell me how...

After all these thread, can the Macqutte model be built into an accurate T34/85 with bed-spring ?

I have order the DML T34/85 6066 from Squadron....how do I cancel the order from them ?

You could try calling Squadron to cancel. They're pretty nice folks there. However, they usually ship my order the same day so it may be too late.
As for ebay searches, I have several saved on my advanced search, each with a different name. For instance, one is named "resin" and shows me all listings with "resin" and "1/35" in them. I can even save time by telling it not to show listings with the words Verlinden, AEF, German...
One of my others is simply "T-34/85." I could refine it as well, by not showing 1/72, but there are usually few enough listings that it doesn't matter.
If you don't mind waiting on shipping, you can expand your listings to show worldwide listings. It's on a tool bar on the left.
And no, the other guys are correct. It appears that Maquette's turret is postwar, so you can't use it.
Oh, and Piotr is right about the armor not being actual bedsprings. That's why all of my references to it are in quotes. Good luck with that project. I'm sure it'll look cool when done.

Well, there is SOME historical eveidence that says the advancing russians did confiscate some bedframes to use onthe tanks, but that the vast majority were built in the field from supplies on hand. I mean, why build a frame if you can just take one from the local village?

However, almost all accounts of the bedframe being used is from the puch for Berlin...seems things moved a lot faster everywhere else and the Russians were not as worried about being exposed to panzerfausts as much.
