I know theres always a lot of posts her about this subject but id like some advice.
I currentlyu have
Badger 100 airbrush - single action
Revell Vario aribrush - double action
and a Revel omega compressor.
I started with the badger and the aerosol cans then bought the compressor then the Revell each purchase making a significant improvement.
I'd like to get a new one, Im not sure if the revell is working properly, in fact im sure it's not, I think the tip and/or the needle is damaged.
Also Im not sure the control is working properly, you can vary the paint flow by pulling the lever back the the air is either on or off, is this normal?
Also Id like a gravity fed brush rather than a bottom fed.
So far Ive looked at ther Aztek 4709 and the Revell flexible but would like some more suggestions, also anyone know a good place in the UK to get airbrushes online?
Cheers
Gareth

Hi
I've both an Aztek (the metal one) and the Revell flexible. The Aztek is very gimmicky. You don’t need (well IMHO) 9 nozzles. I use two – the turquoise and the red. It’s very difficult to set up in terms of the cross over between single and double action using the roller on the back and it does require fairly high pressure. There is also a lot of play in the trigger before you get to the workable area, which is about 2mm of pull between fine and a full model ruining blast of paint.
The Revell feels well built and controllable. If using it as a bottom fed, just make sure the bottles don’t fall out. As a gravity fed brush it is excellent. I have the trigger set tight and it allows for great control and it can run at very low pressure meaning that with the correct paint/ thinner mix you can work on unmasked areas with virtually no overspray. The only problem is the cost and availability of parts.
If your after Aztek try: netmerchants.co.uk
For Revell: themodelcatalogue.com (UK)
For any others try: airbrushes.com (UK) or everythingairbrush.com (UK). The latter sell AB made in Poole (so I believe) and these are cheap and not too bad, but the triggers are a bit sloppy.

Thanks for the info, I've gone for the Revell Flexible in the end as it uses the same parts as the revell I have now and Netmerchants had it for just over £90
