Hi there.

Is the Italeri jerry can set any good?
I'm looking for three handled cans, unlike what you get in Tamiya's really old set!

Cheers

Yes, Italeri kit is excellent. Same cans as in their armor kits. Separate three barred handles and separate filler caps. I recommend them fully. Much better than the Tamiya ones.

just bougt this set and I found it to be quite good. you get plenty of both german WW11 and american WW11 jerry cans. Also included is a couple of jerry can holders that you can cut to the appropriate length according to how many cans you want to put together.
this is worth buying.

The cans in Academy's armor equipment are quite good as well and cover WWII to the present.

Hi!
Tamiya also got a new tooling set for jerrycans, and they look great, but I still prefer the Italeri ones.
Go for it.
Cheers and Merry Christmas (:-)

I would go with Academy, over Italeri or Tamiya. Kit 1383 is a rather nice kit, with U.S.water and fuel cans, including Marine Corps stamped metal fuel cans, as well as modern British, Israeli, and WWII early and late German jerry cans. Toss in some barbed wire, chain lengths, M1919A4 on tripod w/gunshield, flimsies, etc.

I would also go with the Academy kit except for it's lack of numbers.I always thought DML had a good Idea when they had their weapon sets. Only instead of giving 2 of each barely used items fill the box with 20 of the most commonly used. Wish someone would do that with jerry cans .50,.30 cal boxes etc. not one piece of 30 cans. My litte Rant sorry.

You should also look into the kits by ARMAND BAYARDI and VERLINDEN... both are in resin, but the Verlinden kit gives you a lot for like $14.00... nicely done!

Thanks for all the tips guys.
I have no use for modern stuff, and the Italeri set is on its way to me!

Perhaps these kinds of reviews should be posted? I'm sure we could add a few reviews of our Holiday purchases/gifts and keep Jim busy into the new year!!

Cheers

HI Chief

Greatmodels.

I saw their sale banner so many times I finally looked. Lots of aftermarket stuff on reduction. I think they have too much inventory of stuff that doesn't move.

Happy Holidays!

Verlinden has sets of something like 25-30 .50 cal boxes (and maybe .30's, too) very cheap.
