I'm converting a tamiya and trumpeter kit into the M1A2 SEP, one with MinePlow and Centreline Deflector (to scratch) and the other with the MCRS, as depicted from photos from Prime Portal.

Does someone have any photos of the APU "connectors and greeblies" on the underside of the turret's bussel rack?
I've got most of the details except for these.

I've completed 90% of the hull modifications and working on the turret now..but I'm stuck without those photos.

Thanks

I will try to find some pics for you, but now I only wanted to note that APU in M1A2 SEP is now in the hull, not in turret bustle rack. It is called UAAPU (Under Armor APU) and is installed in place of the left rear fuel cell.

The device in the bustle rack is VCSU (vapor compression system unit) and is part of the air conditioning / environment control system installed in M1A2SEP. All pipes and cables under the turret are parts of this system and not related to APU.

I Should have read that article properly! VSCU not APU !.

Thanks for that correction Pawel. And thank you for your help.
Please email to [email protected]

Already took 2 days of work scratch-building, I think the conversion of these 2 tanks will be done only mid-next week .

Nick do you have any photos of the project, especially of the VCSU?

For the VCSU, there is an armored conduit that runs from the bottom of the VCSU in the rack to the right side of the turret, all under the turret. You can see it on my M1A2 SEP, or at Jim "Gunnie" Lewis' site on his M1A2SEP w/ Mine Plow. There is also a conduit that attaches to the rear of the turret from the VCSU. It is a 90 degree angle square conduit that comes out of the right side of the VCSU and attaches to the turret just below the crosswind sensor mount. You can see it in my pics.

Good luck.

Jeff,

I've quite a bit various pics from here and there. Spend the past couple of days working on measurements from the real photos. My build up differs from the other guys here. Perhaps it's because I'm basing my build from the tanks over at prime portal as well as the fact that I'm using the tamiya and trumpeter kit.

I can send you all the photos I have..to your yahoo mail?

If you want I can give you measurements for the various parts that I've already done. but tommorrow.

Let me know.

Sure, I'd love to get them. I have an Abrams in the box waiting to go and I'm also helping a dorm buddy with one too. This would be more than valuable.

Thanks Gino. Nick has already contacted me and I've sent a lot of TM scans. This takes a lot of my personal time to scan and format for sending via email to rush...

Jeff, check your yahoo mail, just send you the pics..I've only selected the most appropreiate ones.

Tomorrow or the weekend I'll try to take a couple of quick pics of mine and include dimensions (provided you're building the tamiya or trumpter kit)

Do a search for info on this site..

The fellows here are extremely helpful

I hope to write a good conversion article on this particular version.... Before the Dragon kit is released!

..this calls out for AM conversion for the other kits..but as it is my initial release items has been pushed back until couple months after Dragon's AIM release...
