Hi folks, i finally managed to find some paint and airbrush nozzle and managed to begin finishing my Dragon tiger 1 initial. I still have some colors on the turret to blen, the side of the turret to darket so it matches the rest of the vehicle ( i had to re-paint the turret because my wash ate my gloss coat lol) so yup, i have to clean up some of the accumulations of my "washes" on the tank as you can see, especialy on the sides and on the front of the turret, before i give it a dullcoat and begin applying powders etc. i also wish to fix up the front which iam not pleased with.
Iam aware i still have plenty of work to do, but i managed to paint and get so far in about 5 days so iam quite pleased, maybe il put it up for hte next MOM.
As always comments are welcome
Frank

Hi François... nice work so far ...too bad about having to repaint the turret ...don't you hate it when that happens...One thing I'd like to point out for accuracy sake ..the only tiger that had those storage bins was the tiger numbered 100 .121 had a panzer III stowage box added to the rear of the turret I think but I'm writing this from memory ..
Your tiger looks great and keep up the good work...now lets see some more pictures soon.

Thanks richard... it originaly was the 100 but the decals are so different from the tamy ones iam used to that i messed up the "0" so i had to figure it out, and using high nubmers didnt seem to be the most realistic choice so i went for 121.

I like the paint job!
What paint do you use in your airbrush and what is the ratio of paint to thinner?
Cheers, Michael

i tried to pre-shade but went to thick and covered it. I used a layer of tamiya light gray( il check this out later when i have the chance) and then spray some ligh coats of a darker grey which i got from mixing black and the grey. Unfortunatly i jsut went with what seemed right so i cant give more details. Once finished the tank was stil a light color, so i gave it a coat of future floorwax, and applied many washes of tamiya black mixed with tap water, and tamiya red brown mixed with future floorwar, and alcohol. then i dry brushed tamiya dark yellow and gave more washes. Right now the base coat is onand iam darkening some areas and fixing some up.
