What color would you use for those M109s (?) almost looks like tamiya panzer dark yellow right out of the can. Most of the others look like lightened modelmaster marine / army tan

Yeah testors for most stuff. But those M109s look extra yellow. Even taking lighting variation into account

I liked the EOD pictures. I found it really interesting to see the Iraqi's had AT-4's, an old WW2 60MM mortar, a stinger missile, and some other American weapons in their [auto-censored]nal.

I think it is the lighting. The out of the bottle match for modern CARC Sand is Tetors MM Sand, FS33531, Testors #1706. Army/Marine Gulf War Sand is too dank and not based on any FS#, but a locally bought sand paint from Saudi used to quickly repaint vehicles sand before ODS. It is too dark for CARC Sand.

Is your brother -in-law USAF or Army. Looks like he got to take alot of great pictures. I know when I was in Saudi we had to sneak pictures because Security Forces would confiscate your camera if you were taking photo's in restricted areas.
Cheers,

USAF he was doing Army Fuel (With the Occasional convoy) duties as there's a Shortage (to some extent) of Personel. He was based at the Bagdad Airbort I believe. He has more pics.... But that's all he posted so far. There's ways around Security w/ Digi cams, A Laptop.... and Cd's........

I agree although that is not always a good thing. I am not here to lecture anyone, but it's my military training that nags me about things like this. I enjoy seeing the photo's as much as the next person, but OPSEC is a big deal.
If you don't know what OPSEC is, in a nutshell it is being able to piece together the big picture using little pieces that you pick up here and there.
But again, I am not here to lecture anyone. Nice pics and good reference stuff.
