I have added an "English Only" link to the Latest Posts page. I applaud the Portuguese forum for its huge increase in usage lately. I just assumed that our English only readers needed this to help filter out the stuff they can't read.

I may eventually filter the entire Latest Posts page based on the language that each user is on via the Select Language feature. I just don't think we are there yet.

Cheers,
Jim

Good thinking Jim !!

Like you, I also admire the usage of the "Native Tongue" forums, but like you said if you can't read it, there's little use in seeing it on your screen.

I was just thinking about this, this afternoon.......and Fast Jim came up with an answer before nightfall again. ThX Jim for being our guiding light

Jim - while your at it ....(!)...

How about a button or link that will show all the messages we have subscribed to? I know I'm probably subscribing to at least two dozen, but can't always remember them, and going back to the site everytime I see a message seems inefficient. Having a "show subscribed message threads" would be really helpful to someone like me who uses that feature a lot....

Just a thought - like you don't have enough catch up work to do already!

This may be too complicated to do, but is it possible to have language translation?
Just curious.

Wouldn't it be better to add "Other Languages" button, since most of the users are English speakers... Just a thought,

If you mean something similar to Babelfish I had looked at that early on. It's not really very intuitive though and the translations come out something like this (in any language).

"Cabbages! Place I was that had a trowel in the after time."

You laugh but I actually translated something once that started out "Cabbages!"

:)

Mario,
It might be a little more work on my end, but that might be a good solution for the longer term.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

can it be that the "last n Hours" feature in the Latest Post Page doesn't work anymore ?
