Can anyone help me out here ,
I am having a few problems with tamiya paints in the jars.
When i come to use my tamiya paints after leaving them a few months or more i find they have evaporated.I have started to buy humbrol enamels as a result, but i am now finding that they are turning thick when left.

Where are you keeping your paints? Whats the temperature / humidity? I dont seem to have this problem with my Tamiya paints and I keep them in a cool, dry place. As for colors I know I'll use only once in a blue, I keep them upside down which forms a ring of paint between the bottle and cap which acts like a barrier preventing air from entering the bottle. Just make sure the cap is on TIGHT!

Steve
Are the jars sealed tightly and in a place away from the sun and heat?
I have many of the old large Tamiya acrylic jars that I keep in a cupboard here and they are still OK (some a going on for 7 yrs old)
I love the humbrol enamel tins - my Matt black finally died last week after 9 years (obviously haven't done a lot of painting in that time :-) )
They have to withstand temperature changes from 10 - 40 degrees over the year and as long as they are sealed tight I don't have any problems.

I havn't had any problems with the tamiya paints or humbrol i just make sure the lids are on tight and i store my paints in either the bottom compartment of my tool box (its quite big) or in an old ammo tin which works well as it is air tight.
