Fellow Big and Beefy Campaign participants -- I'm probably jumping the gun a bit here, but please use this thread as a place to post a pic or two of your completed Big and Beefy models.

I'll also contact Jim Lewis and request a Big and Beefy Campaign spot in the Gallery section of the site for your completed pics. Once Jim has that set up, I'll post a link to it. Thanks

Steve

Dan the base color is Model Master Russian armor green, with a few drops of dark green added.
I sprayed a mist of raw sienna over it all.

Here'e my JS-3 for the Russian campaign.

The Green is valejo model air. Various powders added but not too much I hope as this tank did not see much service I believe.
Enjoyable build, nice and simple out of box, except for canvas roll at the back as nearly all photos of that time seem to have them somewhere.
Cheers
Tony

Hello Andy,
Yes that's the Tamiys kit. I have no idea concerning it's accuracy, but it's a really nice kit to build. Also my first campaign!!

How are you getting on with your build. It's a lot more adventurous than mine.

Tony.

is there still no gallery for this campaign?

I'll check with an editor. With the server change issues I'm not sure its doable yet or not. I'll let you know what I find out.

Once one is available, I'll post a separate thread with the link.

Here is my KV Big Turret for the Big and Beefy campaign.. First KV, sure wont be the last. Only issues I had was with the decals. The "ben" portion literally fell apart as I slide them from the backing.. This had me in fits, so I just hand painted them.. Painted with Tamyia acrylics, I had to mix a green seeing as I couldnt find a russian green to save my life..Comments welcomed..

Here's my completed KV-1 Heavy Cast Turret by Trumpeter. It was my first go around with Russian armor. The kit was great going together. I wish though that I had gone with the link and length tracks instead of the rubber band ones. But I had put the skirts on before the tracks so I didn't have much of a choice.

It was painted with MM Russian Armor Green. The whitewash was done with Tamiya weathering pigment. It was easy to apply but had to be re-done after I applied a coat of Dullcote. Mud on wheels was done by using Mig pigments.
