I have been in the process of assembling the Eduard kit for a while and have almost (a couple of times) threw it to the ground and stomped it. If you breathe on it, it crinkles up. Super glue does not seem to like it either.
While assembling the sides of the rack I noticed that the bottom bar has nothing to glue to as part #12 does not extend low enough. In hind sight it may be better toscratch build the damn thing. Man, why couldn't the Army and USMC go with a solid sided box with a lid or something Just wanted to let those who are planning to build a current M1 know about this.

Here's another option. Gary Johnson, a member here, is selling his custom-made resin versions for $6.

Check it out here.

They look pretty good.

Thanks to both of you for the heads up. I have two M1's on the shelf and the Eduard set. I just ordered the set from Gary Johnson and will see which one works better.

Thanks Cary , I hope you like it. I painted mine tonught and completed installation on my project. And Ive assembled a couple others. Its a pretty robust assembly. And if you break a part , I'll sure send you another. I have a few more things coming in the near future. All engineered to be economical to buy and produce.

How I feel you pain. It took me 2 days to assemble that thing. I was so disappointed with this Eduard kit that I gave up several times.

In the end I had to straighten it because it was warped in every direction.

Nothing's better than scratchbuilding the BRE. It's not easy and requires some patience but you can achieve it with just plastic rods and some mesh for the floor. Anyway, it appears to be easier than the Eduard stuff.

Nothings better , but nothings easier than buying one of mine for $6. Fair price considering its about the same money as the evergreen stock. Plenty more stuff Im going to be offering soon. Gary

Yeah , Oliver , postage is "insane" these days. Its almost prohibitive to ship kits to each other in the US unless its something really expensive. But I still send stuff to europe and austrailia. Custom forms are no big deal.
