I just saw the lord of the rings- the two towers, and I thought it would be cool to do a dio of the battle during the end of the movie. I dont remember what the battle was called but it was the last one at the castle. It would be a big dio, so it would need to be in 1:72 scale. I dont know how you would do it, but it would be cool. :-) It would need hundreds of figures, which you could make castings and make the figures that way, but it would be hard. It would be fun to do as a group build, but since we, the ArmoramA family, live so far away from each other it would be next to imposible:| . Any ideas on this??

Wow thats a massive idea Matrix!! Just dont think the idea of the final scene would materialise as there just aint enought LOTR figures out there on the market.Just caught the movie myself yesterday and thought some of the scenes inside the movie are simply breathtaking............ Plenty of scenes to reduplicate in Dio form. How about considering another scene thats more simple?

Games Workshop do a range of figures for the Two Towers, most are geared around the Battle of Helms deep; The have seige crews, assault crews, bombs, regular troops for the Orks (all in plastic), there's just released a Helm's Deep gate and wall set, and the Rohan are also available in plastic form. OK, not 1/72, but "28mm". The latest edition of their inhouse mag, White Dwarf has an incredible Helms deep model, showing construction etc.
Can't remember the address, but there is a website that should have piccies:
something like www.gamesworkshop.com; lots to look at.
cheers

Yes I agree that it is a huge dio, but it would be fun!!! :-) :-) For the figures you would have to make castings of the few that are in stores, that is why small scale would be good. If you make castings you could make any army very fast. Im not saying that I will do this, but just that it would be lots of fun.
I will look into some smaller battle scenes.
