I'm looking to paint my 'BnB' campaign T28E in a three colour hard edge paint scheme, which was prevalent in pre-war. There are b&w photos showing the hard edge camo schemes. I've been informed that these colours could be a medium green, a sand colour and a dark green or black. I need confirmation before I ruin my model!

thanks,
Frank

There are two color profiles of T-28's in a three color scheme on pages 66 and 68 of "Steel Fortress The Russian T-28 Medium Tank" Both were in service during the Russo-Finnish War and were either captured or knocked out in the Karelian campagin. The colors are dark green, brown, and sand, or black, green, and brown.

Articles of War has a copy of "Steel Fortress The Russian T-28 Medium Tank." It might be a little closer to home for ya. If you're interested, go to their home page...
http://www.articlesofwar.com/

...click on "Books" and do a search on T-28. You should see a copy of it available for $26US.

The three-color pattern shown on page 67 is labled "T-28 knocked out by the Finns near Prassa on the Karellan Istmus, Septermber 1941" and looks like this...

Which is from this page on the AviaPress site...

That is fantastic!!! exactly what I was looking for. It looks like a sand, mid green, dark green (or black) and a dark reddish brown.

thanks for scouring the sites for me,

Frank
