I like what you were going for here, but it looks to me to be WAY too rough. Real tanks in service have much less in the way of rust, and huge swaths of paint missing. I think that would look better if you focused it around the hatches and access panels. I would also try to redo the ma uece too, crews would be extremely negligent to let some of their protection fall int such disrepair. I do really like the color you have achieved on the tracks, it looks "just right" to me.

Hi,
I agree with David, maybe a bit overweathered!
Also I haven't seen HVSS Shermans with 75mm guns yet? I only know 105mm and 76mm Shermans so far!

thank you gentlemen.
I was trying to paint a junk yard dog. not a tank in service. as shown in the first picture.
Martinn, there was a 75mm gun with HVSS. this was confirmed.
thanks,tom

Well the damage looks pretty good, no doubt!
Do you remember the source where you got the confirmation a 75mm HVSS tank did excist?
I've seen a lot of HVSS Sherman pics so far but never a 75mm (although I believe you on your word that they did excist)

a pro modeler confirmed for me: "By the way, 75mm gun turrets on HVSS did exist, albeit rare in WW2 photos. I've seen some M4A3 HVSS with 75mm turrets awaiting deployment. I'd assume that the Soviets got some M4A2 HVSS 75(W) as well."
I will have to ask for pictures. thanks, tom
