I need some good pictures of the ammo boxes for the M2 and M240 machine guns on the turret and how they are attached to the guns. I have to scratchbuild them for my Abrams while I wait for Dragon´s M1 to be released.... :-) :-)

They really haven't changed since WWll or before, the 240 and the M2 use standard OD US ammo boxes. The Abrams weapons mounts include a bracketed tray to set the box in and then you just remove the lid, feed the belt into the weapon and lock and load.
Here is an M10 in which I scratched the ammo cans and belts:

Hi Torbjörn !

You'll find useful pics of the M1A1 MG gun mounts on Tanxheaven. Enjoy them while they're still around

Thanks for your help. The tanxheaven-site was really great.

While they´re still around? Is the site going to disappear?

There has been a close call recently but now everything seems to be OK . But you know how the saying goes : "once bitten, twice shy"

Are there big differences on the ammo boxholders between the M1A1 and the M1A2?

Not to ask a crazy question, but...

What's an M240 coax MG doing LOADED on a table, with personnel walking in front of it? Those don't look like blue training rounds in the belt

I don't know if there's any difference between Army and Marine ones. Check out M2 and M240 on Marine M1A1 here.

That M240 on the table isn't loaded. It's probably set up for TCGST, to be tested prior to live fire.

Those rounds are dummy, can see by the holes drilled. We don't paint them blue. Same story with our dummy main gun rounds, which are hard black plastic.
