Hello all,

Some update on my KV-1 from Trumpeter. Hope I will finish the build by next week and started painting (con-currently building Abrams for another campaign!)

Cheers!

The bolt on plates really make it beefy. This version is my favorite KV1

Yup! I love this kit. Simple and straight forward to build. Intend to build the whole series of KVs!

I agree, it's an excellent kit, However their actually is an improvement which can be made quite simply...

When the Ekranami modification was added, one of the problems encountered in the field, was a tendency for the front road wheels to shatter (due to the additional weight), This was rectified by replacing the front two road wheels with a later model.

There are also two different variants of the Ekranami, - Modification 1 and Modification 2 - the latter (using an early, 1941 hull) only had the bolt-on armor on the turret - a nice simple conversion...Jim
