hi all could anybody answer my question regarding an article by olivier duval custom walls the plater used for the walls what kind of plaster is it. Is it plaster of paris diy plaster from hardware store i have tried woodland scenics mould plaster but it seems to shrink down into the mould to far any ideas many thanks

I use woodland scenics Hydrocast plaster in similar techniques. I don't know what he specifically used.

Nope the hydrocal didn't shrink at all. The only word of advice with it is to mix it very well before pouring.

Mallory,

The more wet the plaster is, the more it is likely to shrink or crack. If you are pouring it into a form, the best way is to make it somewhat thick and use a trowel or other tool with a flat, straight edge to smooth it. If it pours, even with the consistancy of syrup, it may still shrink and crack. Remember, the more water in it, the more to evaporate.
