Hello all,
Here is the StuG III finished. I hope to enter it in the MOM - March, but I guess that depends on the Gallery!
Cheers!
Progress pics can be found here - well some of them anyway, again depends on the Gallery!

Very nice there John. Well, that's an understatement. This thing looks as though it weighs tons. Great color and wear on it. Any damage to the lights? Shame if this thing had gone through months of the war, gotten beat around but the lenses on the lights made it out in perfect order. Then again, it might be my monitor.
Great job John (as always)

Thanks for the feedback guys!
Tim those are indeed the kit tracks - glueable vinyal, not my favorite, but this was OOTB or bust! The wood tones are done in a 2 step process. First they are based coated in Vallejo Flat Flesh. When dry, Burnt Umber oil paint that has had the oil soaked out of it on a sheet of paper is painted on and left to sit for 5-10 minutes. Then with a brush damp, not dripping, with turpeniod I brush along the grain, one stroke. Clean the brush and repeat until you have the result you want!
Kevin, There is no lense in the light, it is just an artifact of the photography!
Again thanks guys!

Beauitful finish John! I'm afraid the Gallery is in the hands of the Gods but hopefully it will be up and running before the 15th!

Looks great, John. I hope I get to see this in person at Valleycon 16 (shameless plug) on 2 April in Chicopee! You really did do a great job on the colors to get it to look good and dusty with a touch of restraint.

Great job John,
I love it! It just goes to show what can be done with a good model straight out of the box. Fantastic job. Best of luck with MOM.
